Consumption Trends of Primary World Energy Sources
Historical Consumption and the forecast for the coming 25 years
Welcome to my website – the renewableenergysystems.net, home of our Renewable Energy Systems Store. The objective of our website is to promote renewable energy information and renewable energy solutions in an affiliate business format. In broad terms renewable energy systems would include hydroelectricity, solar photovoltaics, wind turbines, bio masses, geothermal reservoirs, electricity storage and control systems. It is a broad area that cannot be covered in one affiliate channel. Each one of the main systems mentioned above has multi-layered sub systems that would require targeted contents, and many affiliate channels.
Renewable energy is one of the fastest developing primary energy sources in the world, as shown in the figure below from EIA Report the World Energy Outlook 2017.

The slope from the future trend lines in the figure clearly shows that renewables and natural gas are predicted to be the two fastest growing primary energies in the world in the next 25 years. Renewable energy capacity in 2015 was 3 times the capacity of nuclear sources already and 50% of the coal energy source. It is set to grow to 85 % of the coal source by 2040, and overtake the coal energy capacity shortly thereafter.
